Can my motorized Roman unit be operated with a smart device? Yes, all of the motorized shades can be operated with a smart device with the MotionBlinds app*. They can also automatically adapt to indoor and outdoor temperatures as well as sunlight which can significantly contribute to energy savings. These programmed features as well as the ability to operate from anywhere in any way, even when you are not at home are also a great security feature, making your home always seem inhabited. MotionBlinds easily connects to smart speakers and work with the If This Then That (IFTTT) which opens a world of options to connect your smart window coverings with other applications such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You will need to add a “bridge” to your order.
How do I set up my “bridge” to allow my smart devices to speak to my MotionBlinds? Please visit this handy manual for step-by-step instructions.
If my remote stops working, can I still operate my shades? Yes, there is a small loop pull cord by the manual button on the shade tube. If you connect a pull cord or chain to this you can operate with just the pull of the cord until you can replace the battery in your remote.
My remote is not programming correctly. How can I fix this? If this happens, we have found We find it is helpful to erase all of the memory from the shade and the remote and starting over from the beginning. If you want to remove the one channel remote from the motor you need to put the motor in program mode by pressing the button on the motor head one time and releasing. Once the shade begins to jog up and down, press the program button on the back of the remote and the shade should stop jogging for two seconds. Press the program button on the motor head again to take the shade out of program mode and the remote should be deleted from the shade.
How long do I have to charge the motor in my shade? We recommend at least 12 hours to get a full charge which should last about 6 months with everyday use (average size shade).
